  • Q1. How can I save heat, energy and money?

You can keep your home warmer and draught-free, as well as saving money on heating bills by fitting thermal efficient windows and doors.

The British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC) is an independent, government-backed initiative set up to enhance the energy performance of buildings. Window systems and doors can be rated from A (the highest energy performance) to G (the lowest). Windows that are C rated or better - like those fitted by Truly PVC - are included in the Energy Saving Trust scheme and achieve an Energy Saving Recommended mark, which offers you increased peace of mind and increased energy savings.

  • Q2. PVC or composite door?

On the outside PVC and composite doors look much alike, with similar low maintenance skins that need minimal maintenance. However, on closer inspection composite doors have a more natural look, more closely resembling a traditional hardwood door.

On the inside the two doors are quite different. While a typical PVC door will be filled with a polystyrene, a typical composite door is likely to have solid wood inside. Although the polystyrene fill of the PVC door does keep warm in and cold out, it does not present the same security features as the composite, which is comparable to a solid wood door.
