Simon Framevent Trickle Vent Window Ventilator

Framevent is an attractive window ventilator, made from the highest quality UV-stable material. Suitable for timber and PVCu windows, Framevent trickle vents are offered in two common sizes and a range of colours to match your window profile.
These window ventilators by RW Simon, reduce the chance of mould, condensation, and water vapour in the air, by increasing the airflow. Fitting new trickle vents, or replacing old damaged vents, can improve the air quality in a room, and reduce draught and noise.

Why is ventilation important? Adequate ventilation, inside homes and other buildings, will prevent damaging excess condensation, and maintain good levels of air quality. Trickle vents are a quick and easy method of providing the necessary ventilation.
What you get
Exterior Hood
Mounted to the outside of the window, the hood stops ingress of rainwater in, and it’s slotted grill prevents uninvited bugs getting it.
Interior Vent
Fitted to inside of window, it is easily adjusted from fully open to closed, and can be fitted upside down to provide updraught.
Both the hoods are secured with screws, which are then hidden by decorative end covers that just snap into place.

Fitting & Care
- Prepare the window by cutting out the correct size slot for your Framevent (see routing detail).
- Position each hood over the slot, and secure with screws provided. Ensure that the hod with tight grill is fitted facing down on the outside. The interior hood can be fitted facing down or up, to the inside of the window.
- Once fitted to the window, push the cover caps over the ends to conceal and protect fixings.
- To better combat water ingress, a fine bead of silicone can be applied where the top of the exterior hood touches the window.
Maintenance
The occassional wipe with a damp cloth, and a light brushing of the exterior hood, will keep the Framevent looking good, and working well.
