Description

SmartVerge Linear Dry Verge Units

(Choice of handedness and colour)

Dry verge has never looked so sleek!

Durable and UV-stable, interlocking linear dry verge units, for securing and weatherproofing slate and low-profile tile, without the need for mortar. Provides a neat continuous line along the verge, eliminating the stepped appearance associated with standard dry verge units.

Suitable for both new build and refurbishment projects, with roof pitches from 15° to 55° and total verge thickness of up to 100mm. The SmartVerge Linear Dry Verge system offers a secure, weatherproof solution that can be completed fast, and in all weather conditions – even in sub-zero temperatures.

Features & Benefits

  • Clean linear finish - longer straight units with fewer joints
  • Strong pinpoint fixing - multiple reinforced fixing holes
  • Faster installation - units simply hook, clip, slide and nail
  • Resists tile uplift - holds firm, even in storm-force winds
  • Rainwater drainage holes - reduce rainwater build-up
  • Durable and weather resistant - polypropylene construction
  • All-weather installation - allows fitting in rain, frost and cold
  • Mortar-free system - eliminates cracking, spalling
  • Widely compatible - suits 15-55° pitch and up to 100mm verge
  • Mortar-free system - eliminates cracking and spalling
  • British Standard compliant - meets BS 8612 and BS 5534

The SmartVerge® Linear Dry Verge System, offers a modern, mortar-free finish, that eliminates the cracking and erosion associated with traditional wet-laid mortar verges. Instead, each unit is mechanical fixed, to prevent tile uplift, whilst providing long-lasting, maintenance-free protection, that allows your roof to breath.

SmartVerge is independently tested to BS 8612, and designed to meet the mechanical fixing requirements of BS 5534.

See Specification for a list of compatible tile types.

Did you know? Unlike the PVC used in other systems, SmartVerge's polypropylene retains its impact strength and flexibility in cold conditions. This makes it far less likely to crack during installation or over the roof’s lifespan — particularly important at exposed verges that are subject to wind and thermal movement.

How to Order the Correct Handedness

Linear Dry Verge Units are handed, so it's important you understand which is left, and which is right, before ordering. Handedness is defined when viewing the roof from the front. However, we often look at the edge of the roof or the gable. When looking at a gable end, right-hand units are used to the left of the apex, and left-hand units are used to the right.
