Offers a quick and cost-effective way to enhance a roofline that is in otherwise good condition. Just attach to existing timber fascias or to a new timber backboard for a first-class, long-lasting installation.

It's primary use is as a fascia cover board but this versatile product can also be used for covering internal window cills, lining window reveals and boxing-in pipework.

DID YOU KNOW? The wider 350mm and 450mm boards are Double Boards (also known as 'Box End' boards). So they have a lip on the top and bottom edge. This means you can maximise the use of material if both a left and right box end is required.

Fitting & Usage

Installing UPVC Capping Board (9mm)

Fit directly onto existing timber fascia if they are in good condition. Otherwise, the compromised timber fascia should be removed and replaced with a timber backboard with timber fillets for extra support. The cladding board would then be added to this backboard.

Please consider the following:

Foiled and laminated boards should be fitted in lengths of 2.5m maximum to accommodate expansion requirements, particularly in south facing elevations.
Abutting boards should be fitted with a 10mm expansion gap and cover trims only stuck to one of the adjoining boards.
Normal hand tools can be used for drilling and cutting but we recommended a fine tooth bladed saw.
PVC-U products should not be fitted below 0°C as the boards may become brittle.
This 9mm capping board should be fixed with 30/40mm polytop fixing pins.

Capping Board as Internal Window Cill Cover

Capping Board is also commonly used as a window cill cover to improve the appearance of damaged timber window board. For this application, the capping board should be cut to size and mitred as necessary and then stuck down with a quick grab adhesive like Saves Nails.

Maintenance

Foam and rigid profiles should not require any further maintenance other than the occasional wash down with a non-scratch, mild detergent and water. They are resistant to most acids and alkalis but can be damaged by solvents. Great care should be taken when in contact with creosote or bitumen-based products as these will cause staining of the profiles. Painting is not recommended on foam profiles unless done by an approved contractor.

Delivery

SHIPPING

We endeavour to despatch most orders within 1 working day. Where possible, orders received before 1:00pm may be despatched the same day. Accurate despatch times are available on individual product pages.

Most orders (those being stock items below 1.2m in length) will be despatched same day when ordered before 1pm, and received the following delivery day. We deliver items of that size from Monday to Saturday. Stock items over 1.2m are sent using a two-day carrier, who do not deliver on a weekend.

Due to the size and nature of some bespoke, and non-stock products, we offer restricted delivery options. Delivery options can be selected at the checkout page before payment Is made.

DELIVERY AND RETURNS

Any dates quoted for delivery of the goods are approximate only and Truly PVC shall not be liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss suffered by the customer arising from any delay in the delivery of the goods.

All deliveries must be received, and where appropriate, signed for, by a person over the age of 18 years old.

Delivery takes place, and risk passes to you, at the earliest of the following:

When the goods are handed over to you or your agent at Truly PVC’s premises.
When the goods leave the premises of Truly PVC.
On the 7th day after you have been notified that the goods are ready for despatch.

Customers should notify us within 7 days of the invoice date for any alleged defect, damage, failure to comply with description, missing items, or discrepancies. If no notification is made within this period, the goods are deemed accepted and free from defect.

Customers are responsible for obtaining any necessary licences or permissions for importing goods into their country of destination.

Long Lengths (over 1.2m)

For any product over 1.2m in length we cannot guarantee a ‘Next Day’ delivery service. Products over 1.2m have to be manually handled in some Depots and this can often add 1 – 2 days to the delivery time.

DELIVERY PROHIBITIONS

Orders for aerosol items, items over 1m, or deliveries to remote locations (e.g., Scottish Highlands, offshore islands, Northern Ireland) may not be fulfilable or may incur a surcharge.

Should this be the case, we will contact you with the option of either paying the surcharge or cancelling the order. Remote postcodes include AB30-AB38, AB40-AB56, BT, FK17-FK21, G83, GY, HS, IM, IV, JE, KA27-KA28, KW, PA20-PA99, PH, TR21-TR25, ZE.
