Looking to replace a window handle but unsure on spindle length?
Don't fear, we're here to help. All you'll need to do this is something to use for a depth measurement (nail, screw, chopstick for example), a ruler and a marker.
- STEP 1 - Remove the current window handle.
- STEP 2 Using a nail or other slim and sturdy object (00:21), insert this into the middle hole which is where the spindle goes. The outer holes are for fixing the handle in place (00:18).
- STEP 3 Mark on the narrow object where the window frame edge is (00:30).
- STEP 4 Using a ruler or tape measure, measure the distance (00:33).
- STEP 5 Round your measurement down to the nearest size available. This will allow space between the internal wall of the window frame and spindle end.
NOTE: Remember to always round down from your depth measurement to the size you need. For example, for a depth measurement of 20mm you should order a 15mm spindle. For a 30mm depth, you should order a 20mm spindle.
