Secures cut tiles along the hip!

Corrosion-free metal hip tile clips designed to mechanically secure small cut tiles along the hip line. Hips are often exposed to greater wind pressure than the main roof, making cut tiles especially vulnerable to uplift and slippage. Each pack contains 20 long (J-profile) clips and 20 short (C-profile) clips; used together they support the underside of the cut tile and anchor its head at the interlock, helping to keep tiles in place and resist wind uplift.

Conforming to NHBC recommendations for cut-tile fixing and BS 5534:2014 Annex A, these clips provide a durable mechanical fix. The long clips can be nailed to the hip batten or hooked over the tile batten, while the short clips grip the head of the cut tile against its neighbour. They work with Easy-Trim Ridge F Hip Accessory Kits or other dry-fix ridge systems to deliver a secure, standards-compliant hip detail.

Easy-Trim Dry Fix Ridge F Long Tail Clips

Long Tail Clips (x20)

Supports the underside of cut tiles to prevent dropping and pivoting at hip or valley. These 165mm long J-profile clips can be nailed through their fixing hole to hip battens, or simply hooked over tile batten.

Easy-Trim Dry Fix Ridge F Short Head Clips

Short Head Clips (x20)

Anchors the head of cut tiles where they lap with secure adjacent tiles. These short C-profile clips simply slide over the intersection to grip the pair firmly. Also suitable for use where long tail clips can't be used.

Fitting & Usage

Easy-Trim Hip Tile Clips mechanically secure small cut tiles along the hip where wind uplift and insufficient support from adjacent tiles can leave them vulnerable to movement or damage. Long clips support the underside of cut tiles, while short clips secure the top of the cut tile at the interlock with the adjoining tile.

Preparation

Mark and cut the roof tiles so they fit neatly and consistently along the hip line
Ensure the hip area is fully prepared with battens along the hip before fitting the clips

Fitting Long Tail Clips

Position the long tail clip over the hip batten and secure it through the fixing hole using a stainless steel nail or screw
Slide the cut tile into the base of the clip so it is supported from below
Check the tile is correctly aligned and maintains the required head lap with the course below
Where fixing to a batten is not possible, the clip can be bent and hooked over the tile batten

Fitting Short Head Clips

Fit the short head clip over the top end of the cut tile
Attach it to the adjoining tile at the interlock so the two tiles are gripped firmly

Checking & Completion

Check each cut tile is held securely and does not move or rattle
Repeat the process for each course along the hip
Check the cuts align to give a neat finish and adjust the clips as necessary
Continue with fitting the dry fix hip system

Delivery

SHIPPING

We endeavour to despatch most orders within 1 working day. Where possible, orders received before 1:00pm may be despatched the same day. Accurate despatch times are available on individual product pages.

Most orders (those being stock items below 1.2m in length) will be despatched same day when ordered before 1pm, and received the following delivery day. We deliver items of that size from Monday to Saturday. Stock items over 1.2m are sent using a two-day carrier, who do not deliver on a weekend.

Due to the size and nature of some bespoke, and non-stock products, we offer restricted delivery options. Delivery options can be selected at the checkout page before payment Is made.

DELIVERY AND RETURNS

Any dates quoted for delivery of the goods are approximate only and Truly PVC shall not be liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss suffered by the customer arising from any delay in the delivery of the goods.

All deliveries must be received, and where appropriate, signed for, by a person over the age of 18 years old.

Delivery takes place, and risk passes to you, at the earliest of the following:

When the goods are handed over to you or your agent at Truly PVC’s premises.
When the goods leave the premises of Truly PVC.
On the 7th day after you have been notified that the goods are ready for despatch.

Customers should notify us within 7 days of the invoice date for any alleged defect, damage, failure to comply with description, missing items, or discrepancies. If no notification is made within this period, the goods are deemed accepted and free from defect.

Customers are responsible for obtaining any necessary licences or permissions for importing goods into their country of destination.

Long Lengths (over 1.2m)

For any product over 1.2m in length we cannot guarantee a ‘Next Day’ delivery service. Products over 1.2m have to be manually handled in some Depots and this can often add 1 – 2 days to the delivery time.

DELIVERY PROHIBITIONS

Orders for aerosol items, items over 1m, or deliveries to remote locations (e.g., Scottish Highlands, offshore islands, Northern Ireland) may not be fulfilable or may incur a surcharge.

Should this be the case, we will contact you with the option of either paying the surcharge or cancelling the order. Remote postcodes include AB30-AB38, AB40-AB56, BT, FK17-FK21, G83, GY, HS, IM, IV, JE, KA27-KA28, KW, PA20-PA99, PH, TR21-TR25, ZE.

COLLECTION (from our Warehouse)

To collect your order, choose 'Collect in Person' as the shipping method. We will contact you if there is an issue preparing your order, so please provide a contact telephone number.

Stock items are usually available for collection 1 business day after ordering. For early collection or non-stock items (e.g., polycarbonate), please call 0161 339 4982.
